I just attempted to workout at Snap Fitness, but I swear, every resident of La Crescent was there. I turned around and came back home. I plan on going tonight when all those people are in bed!

Only 4 people were there when I went later, I like that! The workout I'm doing is called the Men's Health Flat Belly Dumbbell Workout. It really kicked my butt tonight! You do a whole series of exercises without any rest, then you rest 90 seconds before doing it all again, it's a killer.

Yeah that was quite a shocker for me also. I was there at 5:30 pm and every piece of cardio was in use except one treadmill, lucky me. I doubt I'll be going there to much around that time. I went by there around 5:30 this morning and it was pretty packed also. La Crescent is loving this new option.

I just wonder what it will be like come March. They say if you can stick with a new routine for at least 5 weeks, you are golden. I'm sure alot of these people will peter out and then we'll practically own the place!

Put my cardio workout in last night around 10:30pm. I warmed up for 5 minutes, then did a 1 minute sprint, followed by a 2 minute jog and did that off and on for 18 more minutes. 1 minute isn't long, but when you're sprinting as fast as the treadmill will go, it is quite the workout. Then I had a bag of popcorn(250 cals) along with water. Did pretty good all in all yesterday. For dinner I had vegetarian chili which is pretty healthy and stacked with protein.

Last night I went to Snap just before midnight and put in my workout. It was just me and my good buddy Dan Breeden. He was pretty friendly.

I only ran 2 miles again, but I picked up the pace. I started at 7mph and by the time I was done I'd increased to 8.5 mph. @ miles took just under 17 minutes.

Haha, I seen him come in and sign up on Saturday when I did. Matt was working out too and I mentioned to him it was pretty cool to have a celebrity among us..haha. I wanted to introduce myself to him, but I was really in awe and flustered..just kidding!

I worked out with Dan the other night. I'm sure he's just trying to lose that extra 10 pounds that tv adds to you. With a sick kid and a wife in Arizona I was stuck doing my workout in my basement yesterday (treadmill, punching bag, medicine ball) and let me tell you it wasn't the greatest. Snap is so much nicer and almost enjoyable to do. It seemed doing it downstairs lacked something...hmmmm, other people! It's nice being around other people that are working out also. I ran a solid 25 minutes with the dog next to me for 15 of them, he was quite spent after that. Today with the sick kid doing good he's off to school and now I just have to drop the other off at daycare and I'm golden for 1-2 hours at Snap this afternoon. I need to pummel myself for the crummy workout I got yesterday.

I ran on the treadmill last night at home and didn't have a tough time at all. Becky says she didn't like running on the treadmill at Snap because it felt too hot. I told her what do you expect, it is probably in the high 50s in our basement, since we don't heat it, while it is probably high 60s in Snap. I'll be hitting Snap later tonight for my weight routine. There is no way I'll bother right after work, because a fitness frenzy has hit the city of La Crescent. I'll probably go around 10pm when it's more quiet.

Good idea! I don't see going there much around 5-7, it is quite the frenzy. I actually like it being warmer because then you really sweat the calories out. I love being drenched after a long workout, it tells me I really worked my body.

Remember when i was talking to you guys and I said I was concerned that the place was going to be crowded? Too bad that it came to be true... Im glad that I have Ace's gym to use until I'm married. And by that time Snap wont be such a novelty and things will be a little more quiet in there.

Yeah, I knew the place would be crowded too. But I knew people aren't crazy enough like some of us to be there at 10pm or later at night Very Happy That is the time I prefer to go, and that's when the place is dead. I think Snap will quiet down even before May, I'm thinking in March, we'll see though.

Just got back from my workout. I can't believe how fast a workout can go when you just keep going from one exercise to another without resting or talking to others. I think I would have only been there for like 15 minutes, but I decided to do 20 minutes on the elliptical.

I just got done eating a yogurt and downing a bottle of water, I'm satisified and not craving anything else. Being that the weekend is approaching, I'm sure I'll have a couple goodies. That has always been my rule, eat good during the week, and then reward yourself a little bit on the weekend. But you need to make sure you are balanced. I don't think I've had a pop now since Monday, and I'm not even craving it at all. If I am, I'll for sure have a diet pop. Tomorrow night we're grilling steak, I consider that a pretty good meal, as long as I don't have a bunch of sides with it and pop. It's good lean meat loaded with protein.

For anyone planning to go workout tomorrow morning, you might want to change your plans. The wind chills are only gonna be -20 to -35!

I was over at Snap yesterday and noticed they now have two our of five treadmills down! Considering what a hot commodity they are I'm surprised they haven't got the first one fixed yet. It's kind of irritating.

I think a discount on our memberships might be in order if they don't get them fixed soon.

I just emailed them to voice my concerns. It went as follows:

Hi, I am a current member and was wondering what the status was on the two broken treadmills. With 2 down out of 5 it's becoming tough to find one available. Also I stopped by the Winona Snap Fitness and noticed they offer a Culligan water dispencer as well as small sweat towels. Would you guys consider adding these to your gym? Water and towels would be a very nice convenience for your customers.

Thanks
Matt

Looks good. If it will take them awhile to fix those treadmills, the least they can do is get some water and towels in there asap.

Heck no! They know I'm right and just don't want to face it. I did see last night though that both those treadmills are up and running.

If there is no water in there within a week, you should email them again and say you want water in there bad, and are even willing to pay for it. Ask if they are alright with you scheduling a visit from Culligan to install the water and that you have the billing address setup for your address. They'll feel so dumb about it, that they should offer it. Very Happy

Good idea! I did just get a reply from them. As follows:

Thank you for contacting us at Snap in La Crescent. We are very sorry for the inconvenience of the two treadmills, they are now fixed. As far as the Culligan water dispenser and towels issue I will be sure to bring the idea up with Dan and Robin. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Who knows, maybe they will implement it. If more customers email their concerns it can only help. Here is their addy:
